Atticus with the 'Erm, actually...' locked and loaded only for Garlant to know exactly what he was going to say, haha. Garlant is a good man, but a spiteful one. We find it funny how Midura keeps the old relationships alive with the Falkes against Garlant's wishes. We hope this makes Garlant's expressions and attitude back when the families first interacted in the comic at the airship races make more sense now. He had to drink a lot to get through that backstory, and it's showing in his cheeks.
